I hope I haven't missed it somewhere else , but can someone tell me what the story is with Walshie? He's missed the last few road games and didn't play in either game over the weekend. The coaches pre game blurb continues to say 'missing due to family commitments'. While I have no problem with this, he has been a huge helper to the team this season.
The team should be able to make it to Newcastle now, but I don't think they'll be able to go all the way without him.
Anybody????

Officially... he's unable to play due to family commitments. The team were aware that family would come first when Trevor joined the team. While it's a shame he's been missing, the guys have rallied together and done good without him.
Re: the finals, we'll agree to disagree. If they played like they have most season, i have faith they can challenge the best of teams with or without Walsh.

are you fucking kidding, are you following a team here or one fucking guy.
let me be the first to say that i think Walshie is prob one of the best non-import players in the league but screw you for this comment.
and the Duke of the blue tongues speaks the truth.

Just a reminder that this is a fan site not a player site.

Pete, as a fan that comment would piss me off just as much. its much the same as saying without Ezzy, Newcastle is done. Im sure that would upset you a little to hear that.
Teams loose great players all the time to injuries and stuff but one guy doesnt win a hockey game. look at the bluetongues the year we had Amado, he was prob one of the most pure goal scorers the league has seen but we didnt win shit. this year we have several guys who are capable of playing thier roles instead of just one or two and the team is reaping the rewards.

Goalies are different in that respect i believe to a player, Goalies are a key to any team.
Without Ezzy newcastle would not be same team to play. The Ice dogs goalie has 5% less saves on average which would equate to almost 30 more goals agianst them this season with ezzy facing almost 600 so far.
Of course this is dependant on the skill of the replacement to take his spot.

Yes, it's a fan site, and as a fan, i want to echo Yogi's thoughts... that comment pisses me off, too.
This team played solidly without Walsh at the start of the season, they played solid last sunday without Walsh. To say we're screwed without him is absolutely ridiculous.

without ezzy the northstars wins would be 6-5 instead of 6-2.

Well he's one of your fans.
Alienate his as much as you like.
It's not about alienating anybody. I'm sure pretty much everybody here knows that this is a team sport, so to comment that a team is virtually screwed without a player does discredit to the rest of the guys on the team. At least, that's the way i see it.

I agree with yogi, also yea walshie is great, but how about why he is doing so well too, he has great line-mates, he has 11 goals and a lot came from the great passing of his line-mates, If people are going to comment about one player like that, go watch a sport like figure skating!
